Manfred Mann´s Earth Band
Der gebürtige Südafrikaner Manfred Mann, der eigentlich Manfred Sepse Lubowitz heißt, war bereits mit einer Band unter seinem Namen in den 1960er-Jahren erfolgreich. 1971 gründete dann u.a. gemeinsam mit dem Gitarristen Mick Rogers die „Manfred Mann´s Earth Band“, mit der er heute noch unterwegs ist.
In dieser Sendung beschäftigen wir uns mit Alben aus der Zeit von 1975 bis 1984. Typisch für die MMEB waren die zahlreichen Cover-Versionen, die auf jedem ihrer Alben zu finden sind, wie z.B. Bob Dylan´s „Mighty Quinn“ oder etliche Lieder von Bruce Springsteen.
