Beim Rückblick genau um 50 Jahre in den August 1976 sind mir sechs Alben aufgefallen, von denen ich je zwei Songs präsentieren will. Neues hab es damals von Manfred Mann´s Earth Band, Eric Clapton, Grand Funk Railroad, Hawkwind, den dänischen Edelrockern Gasolin´. Außerdem gaben Boston ihr Debutalbum heraus. Alles mehr als hörenswerte Alben.

EAGLES – Live at Anaheim Stadium 1975 
                 

Kürzlich ist eine Deluxe Edition des vierten Studioalbum der EAGLES aus dem Jahr 1975 „One of These Nights“ erschienen. In dieser ist ein neuer Mix des ursprünglichen Albums enthalten, ebenso wie der Mitschnitt eines Konzerts der Band, aufgenommen im Anaheim Stadium am 28. September 1975. Ausschnitte daraus spiele ich in dieser Sendung.

 

Die Besetzung der Eagles:

·      Glenn Frey - vocals, acoustic and electric rhythm guitars, keyboards

·      Don Henley - vocals, drums, percussion, tablas on “Too Many Hands”

·      Bernie Leadon - vocals, guitars, banjo, mandolin, pedal steel guitar

Nr. 910 – A Week in August 1966: 
                 The Beatles - Revolver
                 

In den letzten Wochen habe ich mich schon zweimal mit Musik aus meinem Geburtsjahr 1966 beschäftigt. Und für diese Sendung habe ich geschaut, welche Alben rund um meinen Geburtstag in der ersten Augustwoche entstanden sind: Dad herausragende Album aus diesen Tagen war „Revolver“ von den Beatles, wohl jenes Album, das den Übergang von einer Beat-bzw. Popband zu einer Rock- Band mit starkem Psychodelic-Einschlag darstellt.

 

Und nachdem man nach einem Beatles-Album schwer eine andere Musik als die ihre spielen kann, gibt es als Zugabe noch ein paar Tracks aus dem grandiosen Nachfolge-Album „Sgt. Pepper´s Lonely Hearts Club Band“ aus dem Jahr 1967.
