Nr.250:  Band Of  Friends..... Too Much Is Not Enough

Time to celebrate the 250^th  edition of ABSOLUTE ROCK! And for this I have special guests:

The Band Of Friends recently played a great concert at the Bluesiana in Velden and I had a chance before the concert to talk to the band members. These are: Gerry McAvoy on bass, Ted McKenna on drums and Marcel Scherpenzeel. McAvoy and McKenna played for years with Rory Gallgher, whose music they celebrated during their gig in Velden.

But the trio recorded also a few new songs, who were just released on CD together with a DVD of one of their concerts of last year performing tunes written by Rory Gallgher.

The new CD is called „Too Much is Not Enough“.

Nr.249:  Rock aus Bulgarien

Im Rahmen von Rock around Europe habe ich vor längerer Zeit mit der Rockmusik aus einem Land begonnen, dieser Vorstellungszyklus ist in der letzten Zeit leider etwas eingeschlafen. Letzthin habe ich Rockmusik aus Slowenien, Serbien und Kroatien präsentiert. Heute gibt es einen Überblick über die bulgarische Rockmusik.

Im Juni habe ich im Rahmen meiner Interviews für die FREIEN WELLEN (http://freiewellen.blogspot.com) bei der Radiofabrik in Salzburg die Bulgarin Ekaterina Mandova kennengerlernt. Sie leistet heuer bei der Radiofabrik ihren Europäischen Freiwilligendienst. Da sie selbst mit BULGARIEN HEUTE (http://cba.fro.at/series/2325) heute und EAST SOUND (http://cba.fro.at/series/2342) zwei Sendungen gestaltet und sich gerne mit Rockmusik beschäftigt, haben wir beschlossen, gemeinsam unter dem Motto ABOSOLUTE ROCK meets EAST SOUND eine Sendung über die bulgarische Rockmusik zu gestalten.

Wir wünschen viel Spaß beim Eintauchen in eine bei uns eher unbekannte Musikwelt-

Mixed News – das bedeutet einerseits neues aus Österreich, anderseits internationale Stars. Demnächst wird es auch wieder einmal eine eigene Sendung unter dem Titel Made in Austria geben, einstweilen gibt es als Vorsgeschamck neues von Cornerstone, Kaiser Froanz Josef, Schubert In Rock, Purple Bonsai und Bullet the Joker.

Von der internationale Bühne sind es Santana, Leslie West, Joe Bonamassa und Eric Clapton (Crossroad Festival), die uns rechtzeitig in der Vorweihnachtszeit mit Neuem beglücken. 

Aber da ist einiges echt sehr interessantes dabei, das ein oder andere Projekt der Superlative und auch der Beweis, das Rock Made in Austria sich international sehen lassen kann, und damit meine ich nicht nur Klaus Schubert :)
